The Team Plan for Scientists provides two tiers of subsidized access with pricing fixed for an initial 12-month period:

  • Premium Tier: $15 per seat per month (discounted from $100 per seat monthly rate), featuring five times the usage limits of standard seats.
  • Allocation Bounds: Labs can provision between 1 and 25 seats per research group.
  • Data Policy: Anthropic stated that user conversations, uploaded research files, and session artifacts under the plan are excluded from model training datasets.
  • Activity Requirements: Accounts with 90 consecutive days of inactivity are subject to reversion to standard commercial pricing.

Expansion of AI for Science Compute Grants

Alongside seat subsidies, Anthropic has widened the scope of its AI for Science credit program. Originally launched in May 2025 with an emphasis on biological applications, the expanded framework allows researchers across all quantitative disciplines to apply for compute credits:

  • Grant Size: Research projects requiring resources exceeding standard seat limits can receive up to $50,000 in API credits.

  • Fable-Class Restrictions: Claude Fable models continue to enforce query blocking on professional biology and compound synthesis requests, adhering to the company's dual-use risk frameworks.
  • Government Vetting Program: Anthropic noted it is working with the US government on an authenticated access pathway for vetted life science researchers seeking to utilize Mythos-class models.

The program expands upon the Claude Science workbench released earlier this summer, which provides integrated tooling connectors for computational biology, structural analysis, and reproducible research execution.
